Active Ingredient Description

Mandelic acid is an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) used in skin treatments, especially photoaging, irregular hyperpigmentation and acne. The acid promotes changes in intercellular bonds, reducing cohesion between corneocytes, desquamation of the stratum corneum and stimulation of cell production.

It is indicated for cases of hyperpigmentation, as the product acts to inhibit the synthesis of melanin and the melanin already deposited on the surface of the epidermis, helping to remove hyperchromic pigments. They can also be used to stimulate cell removal and remove the photoaged corneal layer.
