Jaborandi is a shrub or tree native to Brazil, occurring in the North and Northeast regions, especially in the states of Maranhão, Pará and Piauí.

Jaborandi leaves contain the substance pilocarpine, which is an alkaloid used as a herbal medicine with sweating, diuretic, salivation-inducing and hair revitalizing properties.
