Active Ingredient Description

NV Melaleuca ECO is an active ingredient extracted from the Melaleuca alternifolia tree, widely used in the cosmetic industry due to its remarkable biological properties. Its antimicrobial, antiseptic and astringent characteristics are mainly attributed to terpinen-4-ol, its abundant component. Upon contact with the skin, terpinen-4-ol inhibits cellular respiration, alters membrane permeability and induces the loss of potassium ions, resulting in the cell death of the microorganism.
